WELCOME TO THE SEYCHELLOIS CREOLE CUISINE
We will be constantly posting recipes of the Seychellois Creole cuisine for you to try and experiment with as you progress through this journey.
Each food or cookery terminology that you may be unfamiliar with is explained here and readers for whom these descriptions are superfluous are requested to be tolerant.
Seychellois Creole Food is Healthy
Seychellois Creole food not only tastes good, but it is actually good for you. Many spices that we use have great medicinal values that promote healthy living. The use of coconut in its various forms such as oil and milk is rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre. Furthermore, the various staples provide a high calorie and fibre content and the abundance of fish provide the protein for a very balanced diet.
So grab your aprons, sharpen your knives and put on your creative ‘toque’ as you embark on this culinary journey into the varied repertoire of what is the Seychellois Creole Cuisine or which, we sometimes, would refer to as the Creole Cuisine of the Seychelles.
